How can I participate and post topics at the forums?
First, you will need to join the site (Click here now to join the community!)  Then, you can visit the forums by clicking here now or by clicking on the "Forums" button at the top of the page.

Why are none of my awards showing in my profile yet?
Once you earn an award, it will show up in your profile the NEXT time you login to LordoftheRingsWar.com If you want to see it immediately, simply logout and login again.  Your award will then show under your profile in the "Awards" tab.

What are medal awards and what are they used for?
Medal awards (also known as just awards or medals) are earned by simply joining the site, participating in the community by posting at the forums, and by adding friends in your friends list.  All of your awards show up in your profile (click here to view your profile).  You can find out how to earn awarads by going to the "View Member Stats and Awards" page.

What are reputation points?
Similar to awards, reputation points are earned by simply participating in the community.  You are awarded points for posting at the forums, joining the website, and even reading articles!  To see how to earn reputation points, go to the "View Member Stats and Awards" page.

How do I find out how many reputation points I have?
All members receive 10 points when they join LordoftheRingsWar.com  To view your reputation points, you can go under Your Profile or go to the "View Member Stats and Awards" page.

What's the difference between reputation points and awards?
Reputation points are accumulated quickly for joining the site, posting at the forums, and reading articles.  Awards aren't really that much different than reputation points - but they are considered more prestigious and therefore can be harder to earn.  For instance, to earn the "The Path" award, you must have 20 posts at the forum.  To view the available awards and find out how to earn awards and accumulate reputation points, go to the "View Member Stats and Awards" page.

How do I keep track of my stats and view my awards?
Easy!  Everything you do is recorded in your profile - click here to view your profile now. Awards can be found under the "Awards" tab and reputation points are listed under the "User Status" tab.

Can I win a prize for earning awards and points?
We will definitely be running contests in the future.  Look out for these on the frontpage of LordoftheRingsWar.com

It says I can earn an award by making friends.  But how do I make friends?
To make a friend on LordoftheRingsWar.com, simply view the user's profile you want to make friends with.  You will see a menu at the top of their profile.  Under the "Friends" menu, click on "Request Friendship."  Send the user a friend request and if the user accepts, than you will receive an award!

How do I know if someone has sent me a friends request?
Once you login, you will see a message that shows how many friends request you have pending.  You must approve and accept these friends requests before your friendship is final.  To approve a friends request, click on the "You have 1 friend request pending" link under your avatar.  Follow the instructions in the friends management screen.

Where do I go to view my friends once I have made friendships with them?
Go to your profile and under the "Friends" tab, you will see a list of all of your friends.  You can click on your friends name to view their profile, send them private messages, and view their awards and reputation points as well!

I've made friends, but how do I remain in contact with them?
When you view their profile, you can send them a "Quick Message."  This is the easiest and best way to send private messagse.

How do I know if someone has sent me a private message?
When you login to LordoftheRingsWar.com, it will display a message under your avatar telling you how many new (if any) private messages you have.

I think someone is abusing the awards and reputation points system.  How do I report this?
Go to the staff page and contact one of our staff members.  We apologize if this happens and will do our best to insure awards and points are rewarded correctly.
